About the album
Started before the pandemic, Mal approached songwriting in a new way — recording raw ideas at speed to capture subconscious creativity without overthinking. Many tracks keep parts recorded the moment the idea was first conceived, so the album feels both immediate and reflective.
Shaped by Mal's own struggles during the pandemic, The Neon Light Foundry is designed to be listened to as a complete journey, with shifting moods and states of mind — a lo-fi voyage from euphoria to calm.
